About Us
Our School Mission Statement tells you how we see the learning process for all our children:
“Sowing seeds of Knowledge, Nurturing Individual Growth”
This September 2008 we had our latest OFSTED Inspection. Our Lead Inspector, Lorna Brackstone, HMI, was very complimentary about our school and quoted:
“This school provides a good education for all its pupils. The chestnut tree on the school badge is symbolic of the way in which it works. Teaching staff work like a chestnut tree by creating a good quality umbrella of provision for their pupils. They provide exceptional pastoral care and guidance to all pupils and ensure that everyone achieves well in relation to their own individual starting points. Recent procedures to help pupils understand the direction in which they must 'grow'in their learning are of good quality. Teachers provide stimulating classroom environments that support pupils in their learning. Relationships between pupils and all adults in the school are good and this promotes a mutual trust within lessons. The pastoral support, care and guidance of pupils are of an extremely high standard and actively promote equality and individuality. As one pupil explained, 'It's a small loving school which comforts you in a warm way.'”

Our Value Added Quotient shows that we are a school who brings the best out of each and every one of our children whatever their innate ability, learning style and background.
We all enjoy working closely with parents to support the learning and welfare of every child in our care and we place great importance on the excellent communication that exists between home and school.
This website will give you an idea of how the school is organised, but please do not hesitate to make an appointment to see the school for yourself or to ask any further questions that may not be covered here.
We believe that effective learning develops in a happy, secure environment which provides challenge and enjoyment. We are confident that we provide this for all members of our Chestnut Community and look forward to you and your family being a part of ours.
Yours truly,
Glenn Page, Headteacher
